DURDLE DOOR
Just a short — but (admittedly slightly hazardous!!) — walk from Lulworth Cove along Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, Durdle Door — a colossal limestone arch sculpted by time and tide — rises from the sea.
Getting down to the beach beside it feels like climbing a million stairs — especially under the blazing sun (yes, I’m being dramatic… but only just!!). but every few steps you turn around and boom… another jaw-dropping view that completely stops you in your tracks!
The chalk-white cliffs stretch endlessly into the distance, and if you squint just right, you can even catch a glimpse of the Isle of Wight shimmering on the horizon. It’s equal parts breathtaking and breath-stealing!
We also spent a couple of lazy hours sprawled across Man O’ War Beach, just next door — quieter, gentler, and equally mesmerising. Getting there is another proper workout (my legs were not ready for round two!), but once you reach it, you’re rewarded with a golden crescent of sand hugged by cliffs and turquoise waters.
It feels like stumbling onto another planet — or a secret wonder of the world that somehow managed to stay off the map!

With love
Mel x
