IZMIR CITY
It was one of those whirlwind stops — just an overnight stay — and let me tell you, we seriously underestimated how massive Izmir City is. Way (way!!) bigger than we ever imagined!
We stayed at the Wyndham Izmir — that iconic sleek cylindrical tower you can spot from miles away — and it absolutely blew our minds. The sea-facing rooms were something else - it felt like we were floating above the city.
You didn’t even need to leave your room — the panoramic views alone were worth the trip.
We were more than happy to just kick back, relax, and marvel at the insane views of the mountains, sea, and city in one hit.
The three of us — Mum, Oliver, and I — made the most of every minute.
On the doorstep of the hotel was a gigantic shopping mall
(who doesn't like a spot of shopping!) Mum (of course!) squeezed in some last-minute souvenir shopping, and we happily tagged along.
We spent the day browsing, exploring, and, , eating our way through every kebab ice cream and Turkish sweets we could find.
And the perfect ending? Room service perched by the window with that unreal view, we devoured the most delicious beyti kebab wrap — we practically licked the plate clean. I— and instantly regretted not ordering two more. 😂
Blink, and you might miss it — but Izmir, you may have been fleeting, yet from the little we saw, you were utterly unforgettable — a final Turkish sunset we’ll never forget, and the grand finale to our adventure.
