LULWORTH COVE

Gümüşlük near Bodrum –  one of THE most beautiful places I have ever been to. And I mean EVER. This tiny fishing village hasn't been devoured by tourism yet, thank goodness.

The restaurants literally kiss the sea – tables where waves lap beneath your feet while you sip away with your legs dangling in crystal-clear water, boats resting peacefully on the twinkling sea. The decorations are so whimsically pretty, like someone with an eye for magic has scattered treasures along the shoreline.

Mountains rise dramatically behind you while the Aegean stretches endlessly ahead, and somehow cows are grazing precariously close to cliff edges – these fearless creatures casually munching grass with the sea sprawling hundreds of feet below them.

The fish couldn't be fresher – straight from boat to plate, grilled simply because when something's this perfect, you don't mess with it.

If picture-perfect had a postcode, it’d be Gümüşlük — so, soo perfect it almost feels made-up!!

Quiet, calm, almost sacred — Lulworth Cove quite literally takes your breath the moment you lay eyes on it.

A perfect crescent of turquoise water, so still and shimmering it feels like nature carved it out just for the lucky few who wander far enough to find it.

We spent hours just sitting there, gasping at its beauty, admiring it from every angle — and yes, we even hiked to the top for those jaw-dropping panoramic views (worth every step!).

The next day, we parked ourselves on the pebbled shore with friends (who’d driven down after we couldn’t stop raving about how breathtaking this place is), while the kids splashed, paddled, and larked about in the water — one of those effortlessly perfect summer days you wish could last forever.

The sleepy village nearby reminded me of an Enid Blyton story — all the magic and whimsy of a make-believe town, half expecting Noddy and Big Ears to appear around the corner at any moment. It whisked me straight back to my childhood, and for a little while, I felt like a kid again, completely enchanted by the world around me!
