MARLOW
Marlow — small town, big charm, and a whole lot of deliciousness. The main reason we went? The Hand and Flowers!
Tom Kerridge’s legendary Michelin-starred pub had been on our foodie bucket list forever. After what felt like a lifetime on the waiting list, we finally snagged a table — cue the happy dance!
We arrived just after what can only be described as a biblical downpour. As our train rolled along, the landscape outside our window was almost unrecognisable — rivers overflowing, fields transformed into lakes — but not even a mini flood was going to stop us.
And oh my goodness — was it worth it. The pub was was deliciously warm, intimate, beautifully British, and every dish that arrived made us go silent for a second (always the sign of something extraordinary). Comfort food, but elevated to whole new level!!
After lunch, we wandered through Marlow’s ridiculously pretty streets — pastel shopfronts, riverside walks and that calm, contented hum that only small English towns seem to have.
We came for Tom Kerridge. We left completely smitten with Marlow.
